Overview of Carbon

The raw materials used in the production of carbon products are waste residues from the production process of petrochemical and coal chemical industries, namely petroleum coke and asphalt coke. Its production process is to use petroleum coke or asphalt coke as the main raw material through more than a dozen complex processes and a long process of nearly 3 months to produce various carbon products. It is a secondary utilization of energy. Its products have been widely used in steel, non-ferrous metals, machinery, chemicals, electronics, aerospace, aviation, nuclear industry, military and medicine.

Carbon material production process

Carbon production process:

petroleum coke and needle coke are the main raw materials, and coal tar is used as a binder. First, the raw materials are calcined to initially change their properties and remove volatiles, and then crushed and ground to a suitable state before mixing, and then kneading to blend the raw materials and binders into plastic materials, and then formed into green billets, followed by roasting and curing to obtain various types of carbon blocks, which are widely used in many industrial fields.

Graphite material production:

further deepened based on the results of carbon production. First, the material structure is compacted and the strength is improved through multiple pressurization, and then impregnation treatment is carried out to fill the internal pores of the material to further optimize the performance. Focusing on graphitization treatment, it rearranges carbon atoms at a high temperature of over 2000℃, improves carbon purity and graphitization degree, and thus produces high-performance graphite electrodes, anodes and other products, which play a key role in high-end manufacturing industries such as electric furnace steelmaking and electrolytic aluminum.

Metallurgical industry

Graphite electrodes conduct electricity and generate heat in electric arc furnace steelmaking, carbon bricks are used for lining and protection of furnace bodies in blast furnaces, prebaked anodes assist in electrolytic aluminum production, and carbon cathodes ensure current conduction and reaction stability in electrolytic cells

Energy field

Graphite and other materials are used as battery negative electrodes and supercapacitor electrodes to achieve energy storage and conversion, and carbon materials are used to construct electrode systems in fuel cells to promote fuel reaction and electricity generation
