On January 6, 2026, encouraging news came from the CNGR Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park: the first furnace of nickel matte was successfully produced at Line 6 of the Zhongqing New Energy Phase II Project, marking the full commissioning of the annual production capacity of 60,000 metal tons of nickel.

Zhongqing New Energy Phase II Project at CNGR Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park is a major strategic project for CNGR Co., Ltd. to deploy global nickel resources and build a full industrial chain of new energy materials. It undertakes the mission of transforming from “reliance on imported resources” to “green, independent and controllable supply”.

The project adopts the internationally advanced OxygenEnriched Side Blowing Furnace (OESBF) smelting technology. Using laterite nickel ore as raw material, it implements an integrated process of “Drying – OxygenEnriched Side Blowing – Nickel Matte Extraction”, which greatly reduces comprehensive energy consumption and carbon emissions per ton of nickel.

This breaks the international monopoly pattern of nickel resources and sets a new green benchmark for the development of laterite nickel ore with a lowcarbon smelting model.

As a core technology for green transformation, oxygen-enriched side-blowing smelting of laterite nickel ore imposes stringent requirements on the coal powder preparation process. Any deviation may lead to imbalance in smelting temperature and reduced nickel recovery rate. Following its successful application in Phase I of Zhongqing New Energy Project, Phase II has once again placed its trust in Liming Heavy Industry.

Equipped with an automatic electric control system and hydraulic roller device, it precisely controls coal powder fineness and output. The enhanced five-stage safety and explosion-proof system, together with an online CO-O analysis device, builds a strong defense line for production safety under high-risk working conditions, fully meeting the stringent safety and environmental protection standards of overseas projects.
