Comparison of slag grinding process

The production process of fine slag powder is divided into three categories according to the host equipment and process. Their process characteristics and comparison are as follows:

1. Open circuit grinding system of ball mill and vibration mill.

High fine ball mill and vibrating mill are used for open circuit grinding. The advantages of this grinding method are simple system, convenient operation and low investment. However, from the analysis of grinding principle, the open circuit grinding process inevitably has the problem of over grinding, which leads to low quality and high power consumption of the system. The temperature of finished products from the mill is very high, it is easy to absorb moisture and caking, reduce the activity of mineral powder, and the inventory cycle is short. The quality fluctuation of finished products caused by raw material fluctuation cannot be controlled in time.

2. closed circuit grinding system of ball mill.

Closed circuit grinding with high fine ball mill. The advantage is that it has wide adaptability to ultra-fine powder grinding tools of slag and other materials. The system needs to be equipped with an external powder concentrator to grade the fine powder, so that the actual power consumption of the system is about 70~110kwh/t when the grinding system produces ultra-fine slag with a specific surface area of 400~500m/kg.

3. Vertical mill and roller press closed-circuit grinding system.

Vertical mill and roller press are used for closed-circuit grinding. Both of them belong to the principle of material bed crushing, but the roller press needs an external powder concentrator for powder selection, while the vertical mill integrates grinding, drying and powder selection. The system is simple, the grinding efficiency is high, energy consumption is saved, and the output of a single machine is high. Because the vertical mill can crush the glass body of slag by extrusion between layers, the energy utilization rate has been greatly improved. Generally speaking, the unit power consumption of this system when grinding slag to 400~450m/kg specific surface area is 30-50kwh/t.

Among the three processes, the first two processes need to be dried before grinding, while the third one does not.
